Proposal

Here is the revised proposal for A Woman’s World. Underneath you will also find the original Proposal with an explanation of the changes made.

Below you will find the original proposal.

What was taken out of the proposal:

  • WeightWatchers
  • Alan Graham
  • Dietrician

What was added to the proposal:

  • Natalie Barsby
  • Men of Britain

We decided to take WeightWatchers, Alan Graham and the dietrician out of key contributors as we decided that they were too far away from the subject body image or they didn’t realte enough to our demographic.

We added Natalie Barsby (fashion student) to the key contributors as she is a similar age to individuals within our demographic. We fealt we needed someone young but who is also involved in the fashion industry to excite and interest our audience, and give them somebody they can realte to.

We added more men to our key contributors as we didn’t want to rule them out completely, even though our feature is mainly aimed at women. A lot of women care about what their partners, fathers, male figures in their lives feel about women’s body image. So we wanted to add that element to our feature to make it more fully rounded.

We also changed the style slightly to our feature. Whilst it still remains upbeat, we gave the narrator a larger role to play. We wanted the narrator to join the journey with the audience, rather than be a guide. So now the narrator is on a journey, a learning curve, along with the listeners, where they can make up their own mind and have their own feelings on women’s body image and it’s representations in magazines and beauty advertisements.
